Why browser processing & tips

Why process PDFs in your browser?

Most PDF sites upload your file to a remote server first. That adds wait time, queueing, and means your document passes through infrastructure you do not control. LokaPDF extracts images entirely in your browser — file content is not uploaded to our servers. Media stays on your device. The tool works on Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone, and Android with no install.

Pulling figures from reports, saving logos, and harvesting page pictures for slides.

Tips

  • Use PDF to JPG when you want every page as a full-page image.
  • Vector art may rasterize or be skipped.
  • Large scans produce large ZIPs — compress afterward if needed.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Extract images from PDF free?

Yes — save images from a PDF as a ZIP free with no signup.

Does it extract every picture in the file?

It extracts embedded images (including many inline images) as real JPEG/PNG files. If a page only has tiny icons or no embeds, that page is also rendered so you still get usable visuals in the ZIP.

What formats are in the ZIP?

JPEG or PNG. Embedded photos keep their encoded bytes when possible; raw pixel images are re-encoded so they open correctly. Filenames include page, index, and pixel size when known.

Will vector graphics export?

Vector drawings may rasterize or be skipped. For page visuals, use PDF to JPG instead.

Is the original PDF changed?

No. Extraction builds a new ZIP download; your PDF stays untouched on disk.

Does LokaPDF upload my file for Extract images?

No. LokaPDF processes your PDF locally in the browser — file content is not sent to our servers. Your document stays on your device, including on public or work networks.
